Our programmes develop the confidence and skills of children and young people using theatre arts training. The sessions include the very best training with professional practitioners in acting, singing and dance and live performance showcases. Y&T nurtures and develops children for Stage, Screen and Life.
Y&T aim to:
(a) Advance the education of children in an engaging and stimulating manner through a high quality performing arts experience.
(b) Help alleviate poverty, discrimination and disadvantage.
Our Triple Talent programme is for young people aged 6 to 16 years old. The sessions run every Saturday from 10.30am to 1.30pm. The students do 1 hour of singing, 1 hour of acting and 1 hour of dance.
Our pre-school class Tots programme is for children aged 3 to 5 years old. The sessions run every Saturday from 11.30am to 12.30pm. The students do 1 hour where they practice acting, dance and singing.
Students will be able to do the Arts Awards a recognised national qualification to put on their CV. This will give students a sense of pride and achievement and will support their academic learning. At the end of the year (July) every student will receive a Y&T Recognition Certificate and a reference from the director which will be a personal report on their achievement, their challenges and their future progression.
Through our performing arts programme young people are inspired and encouraged to reach their full potential. We use effective learning to draw out the talents that are already within, working with and through young people to fulfil their aspirations.
Our mission is to Engage, Enthuse, Educate, Enrich and Empower children to pursue life with passion and purpose.

I love it because its three hours of peace for me! But the children get loads out of it and there’s a great variety, singing, dancing and acting. The staff are great - always helpful, kind and caring with the children. The productions they put on are amazing and the children have been able to perform in some amazing venues over the years. There have been some really good opportunities like auditions, Max has done a couple and was in a short film last year, and more recently had an audition for East Enders which was really exciting. All the children and staff are really passionate and dedicated about Young & Talented - it's like a big, all singing and all dancing family where you can meet and make new friends and have new experiences, it’s been great for their confidence, they both love it.
It’s very vibrant and high energy and I like that it’s really inclusive, there’s a broad mix of children. Louis loves it, he enjoys dancing and has made loads of friends, he was originally quite shy but now he enjoys the performing and acting. The organisers are very approachable and the whole thing is relaxed, we’re really happy with it.

My daughter, Lola has been going to Young & Talented School of Stage & Screen since she was 8 years old. Throughout that time it has always been true to itself and given children the opportunity to experiment and explore. I feel they have given Lola a set of life skills that she will have forever. For example, one of her go-to things is to play the piano and sing. Young & Talented has a supportive, encouraging atmosphere which allows children to develop; a process of implementing and revising their own ideas from start to finish. I like that everything is organic and the children get the opportunity to write their own things in workshops, which are then used in their performances. They tap into children's skills, focusing on what they are good at and giving them confidence.
