The KalliKids Short Story competition 2015 is now closed.

Thank you so much to everyone who entered.

The competition is for children in key stage 2 (years 3,4,5,6) throughout the United Kingdom. It's a great way for children to have fun and get creative writing a short story based on the theme 'Shine'. The competition will be judged by KalliKids ambassador and international bestselling author Joanna Rees.

The winners in each category will get their book published in hardcopy as well as an e-book and the four schools with the most entrants will win a creative writing session with Joanna Rees.

"I loved writing stories as a child. Getting encouragement and feedback set me on my path to become a writer. That is why I am so delighted to be supporting the KalliKids Short Story competition". Joanna Rees.

 How the competition works

  • Children write a short story on the theme 'Shine'.
  • All adaptations of the theme are welcome - the more imaginative the better!
  • Stories should be between 500 - 600 words.
  • Individual families can take part as well as school class entries.
  • The dead line for entries is the 8th of June 2015.
  • All stories, once reviewed by the KalliKids team, will be published on the KalliKids website.
  • The KalliKids team will read through all the entrants and short list three stories from each age category to send on to Joanna Rees, who will then select the winners in each category.
