Suzuki-trained from the age of 4, I have space available for students aged 6 and over - for piano in any style or just music theory.
I can teach siblings together in group lessons, with music games to help train the ear and develop sharp listening and rhythmic skills.
I also welcome adult beginners or those who want to regain their previous level of skill.
I hold a 1st class BA Hons Music Composition for Film and Professional Media and a BA Hons Music and Visual Art, and I am a very experienced tutor who is committed to making sure students enjoy their lessons and come away feeling encouraged and inspired :)
Please don't hesitate to get in touch to see how I can help you. First Lesson Free with no obligation.
When it comes to finding the best teacher for you or your child there are many factors to take into account, least of which should be the price! It is SO important to find someone who teaches the correct technique properly or your child will develop bad habits that are difficult to break
£15 per 1/2 hour (normally this is enough time for a child)
£25 per 1 hour for an older child or an adult.
Lucy teaches both of my daughters. She has a lovely manner with the children, keeping them on task & ensuring steady progress, but making the lessons fun. Lucy varies her styles of teaching and if either of them are struggling with anything she comes up with a creative solution & keeps them motivated. She always takes time to listen to our girls, taking an interest in them, yet maintains their focus during lessons. We feel that Lucy is an excellent piano teacher, who has never let us down, and both girls look forward to her coming every week.
Phoebe has been having lessons with Lucy now for just over a year and we're so pleased. Lucy manages to inspire Phoebe, and also remain firm and set targets. She uses the Suzuki method to teach but is not completely rigid with this. My daughter had previously learnt keyboard at school but hadn't progressed very far, although this highlighted she had a musical ability.
Lucy's lessons have given her direction and re-iterated that if you want to learn music- you need to practice! Lucy has brought out Phoebe's flair for music and she always comes out of lessons pepped up and raring to go.
Lucy has been teaching piano to both myself and my 9 year old son for 3 years. She is very good at adapting the lesson to our individual ages and abilities! and is very creative in her ideas to maintain my son's enthusiasm. He is doing really well and enjoys his lessons very much. I have recommended Lucy to many friends and will continue to do so.
Lucy is a very friendly and patient teacher who makes the lessons fun but still makes sure we are using the correct technique. She is also very flexible.

Georgia has been learning the piano with Lucy for 2-3 years and has just started grades. Lucy is fantastic and I have recommended her to many friends. Lucy reaches out and communicate with children in a way not everyone can and she can rekindle that passion to learn piano on a low day. Lucy can jazz up a lesson with a new piece of music or play something herself to inspire. There is no pressure on taking piano grades and Lucy talked through the pros and cons with Georgia. Georgia decided to start and achieving a certificate has been given her a real boost of confidence. I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy.
