I heard about Groove Baby through a friend and went along to their fantastic live jazz and modern music events for children. The atmosphere was very child friendly and relaxed with coffees available for Mum's too! Isobel loved the music, and dancing around. Everyone there got involved and thoroughly enjoyed the music and joining in the dancing. Groove Baby events are often held in church buildings, so are very atmospheric with lovely acoustic sound. I would happily go along to more Groove Baby events!
Groove Baby is a great balance for the children and the adults and I really do enjoy going. The music is of a really good quality and it is the opportunity for me to listen to good jazz. There are a range of artists and instruments and many of them have performed at well known festivals and venues. The format is free and easy. The children get close to the instruments, climb about and we usually end up dancing with them too. My son loves the live instruments and singing and at 10 months old he is really engaged with the music. The sessions are 45 minutes and timed perfectly for the children to enjoy and not get too tired. I really enjoy taking Reuben to Groove Baby and would happily support it if the events happened every two weeks rather than once a month.
I go to Groove Baby once a month and enjoy concerts with my son. We get to see great musicians from modern jazz to African drumming. It is an event we both really enjoy and that I would have also gone to even before I became a mum! They are held in great venues and are informal and intimate. Cameron also provides percussion instruments for the children to use during the concerts. The owners of Groove baby are parents themselves and understand what parents want and need.

Cameron Reynolds is a highly skilled musician, composer, educator and producer.
With a wealth of experience from working in the music and arts education industries he has a special gift for bringing music to audiences in a way that they can share and enjoy.
As a composer/performer Cameron has toured across both his native Australia and the UK/Europe with high profile pop acts as well as playing in a swathe of jazz/world/blues and rock outfits. From small town clubs to a sold-out Roundhouse in Camden, Cameron has enjoyed them all.
As a composer/producer Cameron's credits include music for Television, independent film, multimedia, computer games and even a planetarium programme.
Throughout his career, Cameron has programmed and presented high quality music for audiences. He has worked for organisations such as Serious (best known for the London Jazz Festival), Southbank Centre and the Barbican.
In October 2013 Cameron became a father for the first time and decided that he needed to create something that he could share with his daughter and other parents.
Cameron loves seeing the way his daughter's face explodes with joy when she hears a live drum solo!
Groove Baby concerts are lovely events and the word needs to get out to parents about them! I try to go every month with my toddler daughter and it is great both for her and me. I get to see artists that I would probably never have heard of otherwise and really enjoy the music. My daughter gets to experience music in a live environment but not stuck in a seat just watching. The children are encouraged to move around, get involved and make noise and that is a great way for her to learn to share the love of music that my husband and I have. Personally I prefer when there is a vocalist, but the instrumental duos and groups have been fab too. Cameron is always friendly and happy to stop and chat about other GB concerts and venues. It's simply a great event to take yourself, and your children to.
