Ellie and Made & Making

Ellie is almost 11 years old and goes to Holy Trinity School. She is learning sewing and crafting with Made and Making. 

They run in a friendly and relaxed environment where beginners and experienced work alongside each other. In a creative environment they will undertake hand/machine sewing, learn how to use embellishments and trims and transfer their own designs from paper to fabric. For teenagers there are also specific workshops covering more advanced sewing techniques and projects.

“At the beginning of this year Ellie had two eye operations after being diagnosed with Keratoconus. She was terrified. She needed something to look forward to and the KalliKids Sponsored Child gave her this. I would never have been able to afford it otherwise.

“She has learned how to use a sewing machine and made herself a bag. For me watching her confidence grow has been the main boost.”
