KalliKids was named winner of the Outstanding Entrepreneur at the 2015 Best Business Awards.  


Karen Bach, who set up the Brighton based company three years ago, was recognised by the judges of the award for turning a good idea into a thriving business.  


Why the Judges chose Karen and KalliKids

Commenting on the award to KalliKids, chairman of the judges for The Best Business Awards, said: “As a mother of two, Karen Bach was concerned about sending her children to activity centres when she wasn’t quite sure if the organisers were properly qualified. Quick to spot a market, she realised that there was a need for professional accreditation. Karen has turned her idea into a thriving business and now has a database of 1,400 approved providers, and is embarking on a massive expansion programme. An accreditation scheme is great news for parents who are always delighted to get reassurance that they are sending their children to independently vetted organisations.”  

The BBAs pride themselves on having a large panel of over 20 independent expert judges who select winners according to strict criteria for each category and sector.

Upon winning the award, Karen Bach, Founder of KalliKids, said: “This is a great accolade and testament to the ongoing hard work and commitment of everyone on the KalliKids team.  

“I came up with the idea for KalliKids after spotting a gap in the market. I was searching for tutors and sports clubs for my two daughters and felt there was no way of telling whether the provision was good or bad. There was a need for an industry standard. Some parents place more emphasis on recommendation, whereas others look at evidence. So I decided to combine the two.”
