Washbrooks Farm is a great day out whatever the weather: children can meet farm animals, tire themselves out in the indoor soft play area or on the outdoor equipment, discover the fields, ride on a tractor, get lost in the summer maize maze and fill up with good home cooked food. All this in a beautiful location overlooking the South Downs in the village of Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex. We are a family business for families and offer a relaxed easy environment where you and your children (or grand-children) can do as much or as little as you like. We can also host your child's birthday party on the farm.
Washbrooks Farm has lots of animals to see and some can be touched by the children in their special pens. Our animals are special to us and include Goats, Ducks, Chickens, Cows (and sometimes calves),Sheep (and lambs in spring), Pigs, Rabbits, Geese, Donkeys, Guinea pigs.
At Washbrooks Farm we offer a whole two acres of play area for the kids to play in, outside and inside. Outdoors there are swings, climbing frames, a bouncy bubble and trampolines and plenty of places to discover and play in. Indoors, the children enjoy a multi-level play area which they can use not only when it is raining but any time whilst they are there. Your children (or grand-children) can run around and play for hours !
The Washbrooks Farm café offers teas/coffees, cakes and lunches and a little calm after all the running around outside. We offer children?s dishes such as macaroni cheese, sausage and beans or scrambled egg on toast for under £2. Parent lunches include sandwiches, ciabattas, jacket potatoes and hot dishes such as lasagne, curry and vegetable chilli. For the hot days we also have lollies and ice cream ! We recently received a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating from Mid Sussex District Council.
There are lots of picnic tables around Washbrooks Farm with plenty of space to sit on the grass with your own picnics too.
All facilities are open all year, term time and school holidays. In addition we offer: Easter Eggs hunts, a summer maize maze (depending on the British sunshine), a Halloween spooky room, and a Christmas Grotto.
Prices include access to the farm and play areas all day plus two hours use of one of our party rooms. You can bring your own party food or we can provide this which would consist of a party box with a sandwich, cake, crisps, dessert (yoghurt / fromage frais), chocolate bar and a carton of juice. We can also provide party bags ? the contents of which will depend on the age and sex of the children.
Special needs children also enjoy Washbrooks Farm (subject to any physical disabilities). The children relish in the opportunity to spend time with the animals and to let their hair down (jumping freely on the trampoline or the big bubble) or to just play in the sand pit. The farm is accessible by wheelchair and the whole site is on a flat surface. The indoor barn is concrete and the outside areas are stone (therefore a little harder work to push).
Group visits with children from schools, pre-schools and nurseries are very much welcomed subject to pre-booking (to ensure space availability).
We are based in Hurstpeirpoint, West Sussex and children join us from all over Sussex including Brighton, Horsham and Lewes.

I visit Washbrooks Farm regularly and have been coming for the past three years or so. The high-points for me are the child safety aspects and the opportunity for the kids to run around freely but not escape. The animal viewing area is great for all the children and Washbrooks is great for all weathers, especially since they have improved the indoor play area. The only downside is that the indoor area can get busy when the weather is really bad. The food in the café is terrific and you can bring your own picnic and use the picnic tables around the Farm. All the staff members are friendly and the access is really easy from the car park. We like coming here.
Washbrooks Farm is a great place to take the kids as they can run around, have fun, get messy and tire themselves out completely. The atmosphere is relaxed, the equipment is good (and has got better over the years) and the prices in the café are very reasonable. The Easter Egg Hunt this year was fun and even my 13 year old niece enjoyed it (along-side the toddlers) !
My kids absolutely love Washbrooks. We've been coming since they could walk and I think it's the best kids farm around by far. I love being able to have a picnic on the grass and watch them play safely. They can't get enough of the trampolines and I always find it hard to get them to leave!

As a family we went to Washbrooks about six times a year when the kids were small. There were always plenty of things for the kids to do whatever the weather. They especially loved the sandpit, the wooden houses, and the small ride-on tractors and we could easily spend the whole day there.
