Topspin Monkeys aims to create a fun and positive learning experience so children develop emotionally, physically and socially for everyday life.
Using specially adapted tennis equipment, sessions include a series of activities and games which focus on the three areas of skill development in order to play tennis. They are Movement Skills, Ball Skills (improving hand eye coordination) and Racket Skills. Tennis incorporates striking, catching, throwing and running which helps improve skills in other sports.
In addition, children learn to listen to instructions whilst having fun and learning. We also use colours, numbers, shapes and letters to help with their educational development so they feel better prepared for primary school and for life.
Children experience the importance of sportsmanship and fair play. They are encouraged to give high fives and shake hands whether they win or lose, but also to give their best at all times. Social skills are developed through the child sharing and allowing others to have their turn.
Above all, our sessions provide an opportunity for parent/carer and child to interact through a fun environment which in today’s busy lifestyle is so important. Tennis is a sport where children and parents can play and learn together which encourages fitness and enjoyment for all.

Class Fees
These are charged at £7.50 per session and are paid for in advance on a termly basis.
Term dates vary from 10 to 14 weeks.

We saw a flyer for Topspin Monkeys and thought we'd give it a go about a year ago when Harry was two. The skills that he initially learnt mainly involved learning to listen to instructions ie: Andy encouraged the children to match shapes and numbers, such as jumping from red circle to yellow triangle so they developed their numeracy and agility. This has now led on to throwing and catching, still emphasising listening skills and following instructions. I think this will really help when Harry starts primary school. Andy has loads of patience and is great with the children. The classes are really well run and includes lots of different activities.

My boy goes to Top Spin Monkeys once a week, it’s something he looks forward to each week as he gets to try his hand at various different activities. His favourite activity is anything to do with holding a tennis racket, he absolutely loves it and because of Andy’s great rapport and patience with the kids he’s able to work with them in various different games to help them improve their skills in their favourite sports. The whole club has a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend Top Spin Monkeys for anyone with energetic little ones like my son!

Maya has been taking lessons at Nescot with Andy for half a year. Andy is passionate about tennis and building and maintaining participation for girls. His passion is why we signed our daughter up for lessons. He keeps the lessons energetic, stimulating and fun, which means our daughter is learning a lot of new techniques and remembering them. Maya looks forward to her weekly lesson and so do we!

Andy is fantastic with the kids and I really like all the activities he has for the kids, there is a real variety and my little one loves going to his tennis classes. This is the best class I have seen of this type.

After 5 months of training I am now a LTA level 3 licensed coach. Running your own business and doing the qualification has been hardwork, but it has all paid off and now I can take the business to the next level.

Andy Low
I have 17 years experience teaching PE in schools as well as being a tennis coach in a number of tennis clubs in Surrey. I have a passion for sport but also for using sport as a fun way to learn skills such as social interaction, agility, confidence and teamwork. I love teaching children whatever their age. I encourage active involvement from parents/carers and my sessions have variety and pace and promote praise and a sense of achievement. So come along and give it a go...your children will love it!

My son absolutely loves Topspin Monkeys. The session goes so quickly with so many creative and fun games and activities. The clever techniques Andy uses helps to develop the children's various skills such as hand-eye coordination and balance.
