The Kids Coach in Barnet

  1. I am a life coach for kids and was the first life coach for children working in the UK. I have been coaching since 2004. I became a coach because I am passionate about children, their growth and I love empowering them to solve problems for themselves and be able to pass on valuable skills that they will need for life. It is very satisfying to see children implement new ideas, gain tools, change situations for the better and see them becoming happier, more relaxed children. I do this by showing them there is more than one way to solve a problem – there are lots! Some solutions are common sense and practical but many are innovative, creative and original. A subtle change to the way a child thinks or does can have a huge impact on their life.

I work with children on confidence building, self-esteem, communication, co-operation, motivation, self-belief, challenging negative beliefs, interpersonal skills, parent separation issues, all school issues, friendships, sibling rivalry, anxiety and worries, social media use

I work face to face and do Skype coaching internationally as a Life Coach for Children. I also run tailor-made workshops for kids in schools, regularly add my thoughts on the world of children and parenting in the press and on Sky News and I am the Confidence Coach for the DryNites Confident Kids 24/7 campaign.

I am a motivational speaker for children, author of ’The Parent’s Toolkit’ published by Random House and I have been recognised as a Remarkable Woman – a female entrepreneur who is leading the way in a chosen career path – an initiative backed by Nokia. In 2013 I entered into the realm of conferences and now run regular ‘BE’ conferences for girls aged 11-13 years and this year I launched several products to help families, parents and children.

I am currently writing my second book which is for schools to use and focuses on social media, friendships, body image and self-esteem.

    • Mum in Barnet

The Kids Coach was brilliant helping my son - he became a lighter and less stressed person in just one visit. He had been finding the transition to senior school a bit difficult which is why I contacted Naomi. She chatted with me at length about my concerns and my goals and then met with my son for an hour. At first they talked about more "superficial" problems and Naomi gave him tips and tricks and coping mechanisms. As she gained his trust, they talked about other things and she was able to say how other people may view his behaviour if he does certain things. What's funny is that I often say he same things but he really listed to The Kids Coach because she is not his Mum. He was so much happier afterwards and said how good it was to talk to someone. It is the best money I ever spent!

The Kids Coach are helping my daughter as she had been getting upset about going into school. Naomi has had four sessions with my daughter via Skype and I've already seen it having a positive impact. Following my conversation with Naomi to explain the issues she has started to chat and build-up my daughter's confidence and is now tailoring things as they go along. It would be great to meet up face-to-face, but unfortunately logistics don't allow that. Naomi has given us ideas and things to do at home too.

I contacted Naomi and had a chat with her about the problems Rianna had with anxiety and lack of confidence, she suggested meeting Rianna and having a chat with her. Naomi was very flexible and able to offer her service over the phone or online but we decided to go see her face to face. Rianna really enjoyed it and although I wasn’t present for their counselling sessions I always got good feedback. Naomi talked with her about various strategies to deal with those times she was feeling a bit panicky. At the end of the sessions we’d all sit down together and go through what was discussed and what we could work on. I have noticed improvements in Rianna, I know she’s been using the techniques she learnt with Naomi and it’s been a stepping stone for her to start to help herself.
