Lucy is brilliant, really great. She has helped Chris in many ways over the last 18 months and we have only stopped because Chris needs to concentrate on his GCSEs and can’t take time out of lessons. Lucy has helped him with his speech but also on social skills, vocabulary and presentation generally. She has brought in papers to discuss, communicated with me the work done and asked for my input and truly taylor-made her work to Chris. She really is very professional and more than just a speech therapist and I am happy to recommend to help other children and families.
Lucy Magrin, Speech Therapist, is very professional, patient and importantly makes the sessions fun, and Finlay really enjoys going. Lucy gives me clear instructions on how I can support Finlay at home and there is also email and telephone support when we don’t have an appointment. Lucy was instrumental in getting speech therapy in Finlay’s school, I cant recommend her enough!
Lucy has been very supportive to Becky over the last few months. She has helped her to develop her social communication skills which i turn has built her confidence. She has passed on stratagies to us as a family which have helped us all understand Becky's needs. Thank you Lucy!
Lucy has always made us feel very welcome and comfortable. She explains clearly the purpose of each verbal activity and completes each one using a wide variety of fun gmaes so my son really enjoys it. He looks forward to his sessions with Lucy each week.

I’m Lucy Magrin, the creator of Speech House, and I’m passionate about the transformative powers of speech therapy. In fact, I believe that ‘communication therapy’ would be a better name for the profession, as what a lot of people don’t realise about speech therapists is that we help with anything that gets in the way of communication. This can include difficulties with speech sounds, language, or voice problems, through to social skills difficulties, social anxieties and selective mutism. I spent 10 years working for the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist, treating a range of communication difficulties, with a particular interest in stammering therapy, before setting up Speech House. I am now able to offer the intensity of therapy necessary for my clients to progress at a pace suitable for them. My vision is to make speech therapy much more accessible to all who need it. To this end Speech House therapists liaise with schools, parents and other involved parties to ensure that tailored help is available to any children who need it, whether it be taking part in an after school group, or having weekly 1:1 sessions with a specialist therapist. As a predominantly Spanish-speaking child who arrived in the UK at the age of 11 and found it difficult to make myself understood, I have first-hand understanding of how frustrating it is not being able to communicate clearly with others. I also know how important it is to have tools and support to get through these setbacks. If you have a child with communication issues, I’d love to help them find their path to clarity. Contact Speech House today to talk about the first steps. Training Undertaken •Talk Tools – A three part treatment plan for oral motor placement therapy •Lidcombe Program •BRIEF Solution Focussed Therapy •Palin parent-child interaction therapy for children under 7 who stammer – Michael Palin Centre •Management of children who stammer (7-14’s) – Michael Palin Centre •Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) •Makaton Foundation workshop – levels 1-8
Karen is an experienced Speech and Language Therapist. She has worked in a wide range of paediatric settings during her career to date, including community clinics, mainstream and special schools/nurseries. She has also worked in child development centres and a specialist multi-disciplinary team for children with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. She has a particular passion for working with children with additional needs and most recently in her career has worked within a diagnostic team for pre-school children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, thus specializing her skills in this area. Karen feels passionate about enabling children to communicate and reach their full potential. She also enjoys working closely with parents to help them facilitate their child's communication development.
Sebastian sees Lucy once a week after school. She has been brilliant at making the sessions fun and she gets Sebastian engaged by tailoring the sessions to what he likes. Sebastian is bilingual and Lucy has been great in helping him build on his vocabulary. Her feedback is great I feel very informed.
