Run by local parents Clive and Lindsay who are passionate about providing exceptional quality Puddle Ducks Aquanatal and Baby and Preschool classes to enable you to nurture a love of the water for life in your little ones.
Swimming offers your baby a unique sensory experience and develops confidence in the water that lasts a lifetime, as well as truly magical one-to-one time for you and your baby.
Taught in lovely warm pools with a maximum of 8 children, our classes incorporate rhyme, music and movement based on extensive child development research.
We also teach invaluable water safety and personal survival skills from the start in our classes, which the children love practising in our termly pyjama parties!
Although we have spent many years developing our progressive lesson plans, our teachers adapt every activity to suit every child. Our baby-led swimming approach ensures that your child's needs are expertly filled - never forcing development, but rather nurturing it to ensure a positive experience and love of swimming.
As well as intensive Puddle Ducks training all our teachers are fully STA qualified and CRB checked so that you know that you and your baby are in safe hands. We also have poolside assistants at all our lessons to provide extra support and help to you and your child as soon as you arrive at the venue.
You can begin your Puddle Ducks journey even before your bundle of joy arrives! Our Aquanatal classes are a perfect balance of relaxation, laughter and exercise - a wonderful way to unwind and stay healthy in pregnancy. Our teachers pass antenatal swimming training accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.
If you have any questions or want to find out more please do email or call to chat to Lindsay about your individual needs.

Noah has been having lessons with Puddle Ducks for about 18 months. Clive and Lindsay have been brilliant - easy to get on with, helpful, accommodating and very organised. Clive is very good with Noah who has recently started disliking the submersions - Clive is able to gauge his mood very well and never pushes him to do something that he is not comfortable with.
My son had previously been to other swim schools from 6 weeks old, but unfortunately he was quite traumatised by his experience at one of the schools, and refused to go anywhere near a pool. Swimming was a skill that I really wanted him to learn so I explained the whole situation to Clive and he has been brilliant - my son is not put under any pressure in the lessons or pushed to do anything that he doesn't feel comfortable with. He really relates well to Clive and is eager to please him in the lessons - he was so proud of the sticker he got at the end of yesterday's lesson. They also communicate well with the parents via text and email.
Excellent classes, clear communication and good guidance.
Puddle Ducks West Kent & East Sussex – Thanks for the feedback Siobhan!
After only one term Finn is developing confidence in the water and enjoying himself enormously. The lessons are constructive and fun. The new venue at Bowles is very convenient and everything is run in a very organised manner. I highly recommend Puddleducks and the very friendly staff.

I have always loved the water, one of my very early memories is being in my backyard, in a huge paddling pool and going under the water for the first time, all by myself. After that my parents had trouble keeping me out of the water. By the age of 11 I was training at squad level and regularly competing for my local team, my school and at county championships. I discovered lifesaving when I was about 14 and started to participate in both pool and open water competitions, my spare time was filled with swimming in one guise or another. Unfortunately, this all took a dramatic halt after I developed a knee injury at the age of 16. So swimming left my life for a few (ahem) years, until I had my daughter in 2012. After taking her swimming, seeing how much she loved it, I knew I had to become a baby and pre-school teacher. I feel very privileged that I have joined the Puddleducks team, not only do I get to do something I love, I get to share with parents the joy they have when their child learns a new swimming skill. There are not many jobs in the world which can be as rewarding. As a new mum myself I understand the importance of teaching my little one to love and enjoy the water - but I also realise that allowing them the freedom to truly develop their skills can be daunting for mum (or dad). It certainly was for me when I submerged Lyra for the first time! I think this understanding enables me to help my mums and dads feel as comfortable as possible with their little ones in the water. I look forward to spending time with you soon!
My passion for teaching babies and children to swim began when my youngest daughter Gracie May and I started attending classes when she was just 11 weeks old. From day 1 it became the highlight of our week, a special bonding time that surprisingly I enjoyed as much as her! As a child I was not initially a strong swimmer and I had an alarming experience, nearly drowning having fallen into a pool well out of my depth. From that moment on I resolved to improve my own ability in the water and I never looked back. Now I am lucky enough to be able to be teaching other children to swim and I am very proud to be part of the Puddle Ducks team. Every class has been carefully devised to fit your child's developmental stage, with lots of songs, games and activities geared towards getting your little one to swim independently. Most of all, each class is a lot of fun!
Hi, I’m Lindsay and I run the business with Clive. I am passionate about providing exceptional quality Puddle Ducks Aquanatal and Baby and Preschool classes to enable you to nurture a love of the water for life in your little ones. I work mainly behind the scenes, though you may sometimes see me poolside, and I am always available to answer any queries or questions you may have - please do email or call me for a chat or to let me know about your little Puddle Duck’s progress! We always love to hear how they are doing and to hear what you enjoy about our classes.
My son started lessons with Puddle Ducks when he was six months old. The venue is good, and they are very helpful. They have been flexible if I am unable to attend a particular class, always seeing if it is possible for me to attend another. I believe that my son is receiving high quality tuition. Clive is brilliant with the children, a confident and encouraging teacher, who the children warm to. The classes are professional but remain friendly.
