Experts agree that music benefits all areas of learning, and we all know that music is vital to our well-being! Our classes focus on the use of music to support development of speech, language and communication – along with social skills – through fun sessions lead by experienced and well-trained teachers and musicians.

We keep our classes simple - no gizmos or gadgets, just the chance for children to be themselves and spend time with their parents or carers. Alongside traditional songs & lullabies, musical games, puppets & percussion taken from around the world, our classes also include time for a drink, biscuit and chat with your fellow grown-ups! 

Classes are tailored to different stages of development and we have a range of options available:

Babies: from birth to a year, relaxed and calm classes with lullabies – and reminders of all our lovely traditional songs you may have forgotten! Lots of ideas for you to take home.

Toddlers on the move: two stages of lively classes for 1+ and 2+ – gentle and realistic structure with plenty of opportunities for marching and moving; puppets and instruments for every child. Definitely developing social skills through play!

Pre-schoolers: Usually without carers involved in the class, we encourage school-readiness with sharing, turn-taking, following verbal and non-verbal instructions etc. The classes link with the early years curriculum introducing conscious musical skills and concepts, steady beat, rhythm and simple notation.

Siblings: We recommend enrolling in the right stage class for the older child, younger siblings fees are then half price.

Special & Additional needs: We are welcoming and supportive to parents of children with additional needs. It is also possible to arrange bespoke groups on request.

Singing Saturdays!: occasional classes aimed at Dads and working parents – no on-going commitment needed, just reserve a place the week before for an hour of musical fun, then cake and coffee! Forthcoming dates: 7th & 21st November and 5th December

Holiday classes: Check out our website or follow us on Facebook for details of classes throughout the holidays. You don’t have to be part of a regular class to book.

Parties: We are able to provide Birthday Parties for children turning 1-5 years. Contact us for more information.

Nurseries & Schools: We provide music classes at many schools, pre-schools and nurseries in the area. Please contact us if you are interested in arranging a free demonstration lesson.

After-school musical fun: We now run a Children’s Fun Choir for 4-8 year olds, building on the foundations of musicianship which are laid down at Musical Bumps classes, following the world renowned ‘Kodaly’ principles http://www.britishkodalyacademy.org/kodaly_approach.htm

Bespoke post-natal courses: We can arrange a 6 week post-natal music course for groups of friends (new mums – and dads) in the comfort of your own home – these have proved to be very popular.
