I’ve been taking my girls to Klodhoppers since they started walking. They have wide feet and we were struggling to get nice shoes in high street stores. Klodhoppers have the best selection of quality leather shoes in Brighton and their experience and advice of fitting shoes correctly is has been really helpful for us. We love their loyalty offers for regular customers and all the different styles and brands they stock that you can’t find anywhere else.
I like the atmosphere and how kid friendly it is. There is lots of choice and Kim and Mark are really good at properly fitting and advising what shoe is best. Kim is specially trained so I feel confident that my children are getting the best service and the right shoe for them.
My daughter was treated appallingly by the owner 2 weeks ago when she returned a pair of Vans that the sole had come off of after only 9 days of use.
My daughter and her many friends have spent thousands in this over priced trendy shop over many years and she will in future go elsewhere when any of her 3 children need shoes.
She and I will also spread the word of how rude sarcastic , and obnoxious the man was .
Klodhoppers – We are truly sorry that you feel this way. As a family-owned independent, we are only too aware of the importance of good customer service, expert fitting advice and quality products to fit all budgets. We always welcome praise when due and, of course, criticism when constructive. If there is a manufacturing fault with a product then in accordance with relevant Sales of Goods Regulations we would offer a repair if appropriate, or refer it to the manufacturer for quality control testing. In this particular instance, we did not feel that the fault was due to the manufacturing process, but rather inappropriate use, and we advised the customer of this accordingly, but certainly not in the manner described. We are always at pains to point out to our customers that the product must be appropriate to what it’s being bought for, e.g. a canvas shoe is not suitable as a school shoe. We tried to explain this to your daughter in the shop and understand how frustrating this must be for the family. We are sorry that in this case our hands are tied and we could not help. To the best of our knowledge, the lady who has written this review was not in the shop at the time.
Love klodhoppers! Staff are brilliant, helpful, friendly & knowledgable.
Always a great selection of shoes & boots.
Id struggled in the past to get shoes for my daughter as her feet are quite narrow, with some other children's shoe shops advising me to put extra insoles in!
Not at klodhoppers though! They advised straight away the brands she wouldn't be able to wear & gave her a range of shoes to try on. Was so nice to be in a shop where they weren't just trying to make a sale.
They are quite pricey but I don't mind as she has a selection to pick from & I know they fit perfectly & they last her.
Added bonus that they also do some adult shoes!!

Hi! I’m Georgia and I’ve been working here at Klodhoppers since August 2013. Being the baby at Klodhoppers as well as my own family, it’s great being older than the majority of the customers! I really enjoy working here; the atmosphere is always fun and easygoing thanks to the staff and customers alike! My favourite brand here (much like many girls in the country) would have to be the Lelli Kellys. As a self confessed lover of all things sparkly I dedicate much of my time trying to persuade my older brother to buy a pair for his little girl! My biggest past time is the performing arts, I love being on stage and have been involved in amateur theatre since the age of 8. Other than that I enjoy seeing my friends and buying new clothes. My dream holiday would be to travel all around East Asia, the culture and history interests me massively – and of course, the sunshine!
Hi, my name is Helen and I’m Manager here at Klodhoppers. I started here in June 2013 after working for Velvet another independent store in Hove for 9 years. The role here is a new challenge for me and it’s great to be involved with another small family run business. There is lot’s to learn but I think I’m getting the hang of it. I consider myself lucky to be here being a Gooner,(Arsenal fan) Mark (the owner) is a Tottenham fan and would probably never have employed me if he knew this during my interview! I am a big footie fan and am glued to sky sports news when I’m not working on Saturday. I enjoy going to watch games live, just waiting for my season ticket…. I wish! I am a big fan of electronic music and will always be last on the dancefloor either in the club or just in my kitchen! I also love to cook and create new dishes. My signature dish being cheesecake. I like going out for dinner, my favourite restaurant is the cheesecake factory in Florida. I would like to do a road trip across America one day before I get to old!
Hey there, I'm Kelly and have been working at Klodhoppers for just under six months now. So far I have loved the experience: everyone here is so nice and welcoming, I am proud to say I am part of such a great team! My favourite brand is Converse, not just for how stylish their designs are but for the reputation of the company - they enjoy working with the community, including free use of their recording studio to all new and upcoming bands and artists! Music plays a massive part of my life and studies, and my dream holiday would be to New York to experience their incredible music and theatre lifestyles. I hope to one day live in the US specifically for their love and involvement in the entertainment industries, alongside the constant sunshine!
Hey! I’m Kitty and I’m the newest member of the team- I started in October 2014. Having tiny little feet myself (only a size 2!) it’s lovely working with kids who may be smaller than me, but have already over taken me in foot size. I absolute love working at Klodhoppers, being an independent business I am so close with everyone in our tight-knit staff family and have as much fun with them as I do with our clients, big and small! My favourite brand that we sell is definitely Dr Martens. Being an owner of five pairs (and counting…) Their sturdiness and style are second to none, the patent pink pair are my favourite! When I’m not at work or college my favourite hobby is classical singing, on stage or in exams. I also love kooky fashion and love reading Japanese fashion blogs and scanning the internet for something my friends will definitely roll their eyes at. Because of this passion my dream is to travel to Japan to immerse myself in the culture… and of course go shopping!!
Hello! I’m Lois and I have been working here at Klodhoppers for about 18 months now. I have recently finished my apprenticeship and have passed my NVQ Level 2 Retail which I enjoyed learning about! I love working here at Klodhoppers for a number of reasons, the staff are very friendly and it is nice meeting new people! I also love shoes like any girl does! I have 2 little twin sisters who are nearly 5 years old who also love shoes so working here is a bonus for them too! My personal interests are Music, Fashion and shoes! My obsession is Mcfly! I have seen them live about 15 times now, which the first time was when I was 11 years old! I have also met them a number of times! I love going to gigs and going out with my friends. My dream holiday would be America as I have always wanted to visit New York.
I like Klodhoppers because it's relaxed and the people are very professional. We have been going for years and when the children were younger they really enjoyed playing with the basket of toys. They always put the customer first, and are very good at recommending the best type of shoes - they won't sell you just anything! I would highly recommend them.
