Foxdale Dance is a contemporary and ballet dance training school based in Lewes. Whatever your experience, classes respond to the needs of individual students to prepare them to achieve their best. We offer classes for children in Ballet, Contemporary and the hugely popular sensation of Zumba.
Ballet examination classes are available covering the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance exam board syllabus. This allows for students to study programmes that are one of the most recognised exam boards in the world. Dance colleges accept certain levels of this qualifications if your students chooses to follow the career path of a dancer. These classes offer a sound training board for technique development. Gaining high technique at the style lends itself to many other dance forms.
Ballet develops student’s strength and posture and allows for musicality and grace whilst dancing. Nursery and baby ballet involve lots of creative imagination whilst learning the fundamentals of the ballet technique and of course having lots of fun!
Contemporary Classes involve learning the key principles of dance in relaxed and informative classes. Movement vocabulary, coordination and confidence will be developed.
Contemporary classes involve warm up sequences, centre work, floor work and travelling combinations culminating in a challenging dance sequence. The Dance company classes will then have creative sessions to develop their choreographic skills. This is where students get to learn from one another and create their own vocabulary within structured tasks, lots of fun is had here!
Zumba is an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that’s moving millions of people towards joy and health. It’s perfect for both children and adults and is a fun way to keep fit.

Matilda has been attending Beth's classes for about 18 months now. She gets the train to Lewes once a week and her classes are about an hour and a half. Matilda is studying dance at sixth form so Beth's classes complement her studies brilliantly. Matilda wanted to find a class which was more modern/contemporary, rather than classically led, although Beth does everything from Zumba to Swan Lake!. Beth's classes explore elements of choreography, combined with technical practice. As an ex-dancer myself, I can see that Beth is an extremely talented and creative dancer and teacher. Matilda has formed a lovely relationship with her as she really listens to what they have to say. She is also very vigilant and cares about her pupils. Matilda always looks forward to her classes which is fantastic for a teenager!
The dance lessons are always great fun. Beth gives you the opportunity to be creative and imaginative with your body rather than just teaching you and telling you what to do. I've been there nearly 2 years now and I still enjoy her dance as much as I did when I first joined! Anyone is welcome.

Lauren has been attending the class with Beth for just over a year. I found out about Beth from a friend who's daughter was attending.
Beth is extremely positive with children of all abilities. I've seen great improvement and the class love her! Beth is very likable and a great teacher. I honestly can't see any room for improvement.
