Established in 2012 DanceBrightonDance is a dance school that offers lessons in both basic ballet and street dance.
The classes are both fun and relaxed allowing the children to learn and be creative.
The Ballet class is taught using the cecchetti ballet method, a method which teaches the children set exercises that can be worked on and practiced week after week.
Ballet for 3-5 yr olds
The Street class is structured so that the students are learning new steps from 'backward foot slides' to 'cross steps' on a regular basis and then using them in choreographed routines.
Street for 5 -8 year olds
My main objective is that at the end of each lesson the children walk away feeling happy and have had a good time.

Esme and Thomas have been going to street dance every Saturday morning since January. I find Stuart really professional, the kids in the class really respect him and listen as he is clear and concise so they can pick up the routines quickly. He seems to get good results considering how young some of them are. My kids love the class and the music he chooses. I would like to see another class for older children as my daughter is the oldest and feel that she would prefer being with kids her age and older!
Ruby has been going to Stuart's classes since they started in January. She really looks forward to them and really doesn't like to miss any. Stuarts has great control which is really important as the class is only 45 minutes and they have a lot packed into it to keep it varied. Ruby's confidence has really grown as she is quiet and doesn't like to be centre of attention, Stuart is good at bringing her out of herself and she literally beams when she has mastered a new move! I love the class as its a lot more relaxed than other dance classes and boys and girls mix well together. Parents can also sit in which is lovely to watch the progression and routine building. I can't fault the class and think that Stuart is excellent at what he does.
Good value for money. Friendly and encouraging teacher. My daughter loves her ballet lessons!
Etta absolutely loves coming to ballet class. Its fun and not too formal. Would recommend it to any budding ballet star!

Beginning my career in 1999 I studied a 2 year BTEC National diploma in Performing arts, which then led to me working as a Butlins Redcoat in 2001. Between 2002 and 2006 I worked as a dancer and vocalsit for Weststar holidays, qualify as a YMCA fitness through music instructor as well as beginning my teaching career, teaching children’s Street dance classes. Along side this I worked in various Youth projects, carnivals and amateur productions including ‘Little shop of Horrors’ and ‘Aladdin’ In 2007 I relocated to Brighton. Since being here I have been lucky enough to choreograph club night acts and performances and have continued my teaching career, teaching both children and adults alike in styles from Street, Freestyle and Latin American. In 2010 I continued my studies and qualified as an Associate of the Imperial Teachers Society of Dancing.
My son Noah has been coming to Stuart's classes since he started at the hall. It was my wife's idea as I must admit I didn't think he would take to it but he is always happy and motivated to come and really loves the routines. Stuart is excellent at what he does, he manages to control the class of young children very well. He is disciplined but the children respond positively to him. I can't see any room for improvement in Stuarts teaching.
