Buddha Buddies run educational based yoga classes in Kent. All classes are based around appropriate age group activities:
Buddha Babies from birth to fast crawlers, this class is all about working with reflexes and developmental milestones. Each class involves songs and rhymes to work with your baby.
Buddha Tots from fast crawlers to age 2, this class moves with your little yogi's new found need for independent movement. Working on lots of developmental issues such as 'crossing the midline', spatial awareness and communication. Each class is themed and engages these big personalities that are on the move! Songs, rhymes and lots of props to ensure we capture their attention and imagination!
Buddha Pre-Schoolers from 2.5 years to age 5 this class moves on from the tots classes with a more structured plan for each session. Again themed we now work on lots of partner and team work to begin social interaction and skills needed for their changing world.
BB Education from year R up to year 7 this programme is based around a more educational structure to coincide with mainstream curriculum. Based on research that is linking physical activity to benefits in learning, social and emotional skills these courses are all about taking PE out of the gym/ school hall and into the classroom.

Rachel's class is great, very laid back and relaxed. I really liked how Rachel explained the yoga movements and how they encouraged your baby to crawl and walk, and that you can do them at home. The class was very easy to get to, child friendly as its part of the adventure kids area and there is free parking.
I take my youngest son to Rachel's yoga classes - we did the baby classes when he was only a few weeks old which were more massage based, lovely for bonding, and helped me learn how to soothe and calm him. The group was very small and friendly, and a brilliant way to get to know other Mums. We now do the Toddler Yoga which is also great for bonding and socialising with other families. My son is very active and I've taken tips from the class to use to calm him down when he gets stressed, for instance at nappy change time. It would be lovely to introduce a couple more songs to help keep the children engaged as their attention span is so short at this age. We really enjoy the classes.
Rachel is really supportive of new mums joining baby yoga, I took my daughter from 6 weeks. During class Rachel covers many yoga positions for both baby and mum to enable both to feel comfortable and relaxed. I would definately recommend this to local parents as you also have a chance to meet new mums too.
Rachels yoga class has become the highlight of Sophia and i's week and we always look forward to it. While offering yoga for both baby and a bit for mum I have found it really beneficial to Sophia's development and she just loves interacting with the other babies there. The class offers a warm welcoming friendly environment with no pressure on mum or baby. It is just a fab place to discuss tips, catch up with other mums in the same place, stretch those limbs and bond with your baby.

Rachel has been teaching baby massage and baby yoga for over 9 years and has designed these courses as a continuum of the educational role of movement benefiting brain development. She has a degree in English and Psychology which has given her knowledge which is applied to all her courses. A mother of twin girls she also has plenty of experience of dealing with babies and children.
Rachel makes the yoga classes really very friendly and welcoming. The babies and toddlers enjoy themselves and are not pressurised to do absolutely all the yoga moves. All the children do learn in the class as they learn about their bodies and stretching but also about socialisation and sharing. The yoga class is a good way for me to chat and have a cup of coffee afterwards with other parents with young toddlers. Coming along as a new Mum was not daunting at all and was very comfortable. Everyone has a smile on their face!
