Is a fantastical art & science shop and art room run by Anna Gathy and Sharon Mee. This artist and scientist duo, aim to pass on fun, creative learning to children, young people and their families.
"We stock high quality yet affordable Art, Craft and Science kits from top brand names like Marbel, Make-do, Alex, Brainbox, Apples to Pears and Cheatwell games.
“Take away” a little bit of what we do and choose one of our Arties Make-a-Way kits. Look out for our Rockets and Robots, Owls and Butterflies or Teapots and Tele scopes kits which all make great birthday presents”
Or book into our clubs, weekend or holiday workshops or an Arties party and see for yourself what we do.
Little artists aged 1 – 3 years visit Poddies Pre school, please bring your grown up with you for themed sessions emphasising creative play. £4 per hr per child, Thurs 9.15am -10.15am & 10.30-11.30am or Fri 9.15 -10.15, 10.45 -11.45 & 1.30-2.30pm
Primary aged children who love Art, Science and Nature participate in Poddies Art & Beach Club! And complete an Arts Award (nationally recognised certification for the Arts). We run a walking bus collection service from Our lady of Lourdes and St Margarets schools. Mon- Fri 3.30-6pm £5 per hr or £13 for the whole sessionNo joining fees, just book by email, phone or text .
Do you have an art or science monster creating a gorgeous mess everywhere? We offer awesome Arties parties just for them! In our ART LAB all decorated to your bespoke theme! Make slimey goo, watch a volcano erupt or create an art masterpiece! £10- £15 per child

Nancy loves Arthropod Arts she attends the after school club and has recently had her 9th Birthday Party which was brilliant. For the party she had a Monsters Science Party for 15. They all got to wear lab coats and safety glasses looking like real scientists. They did lots of experiments, and it was very well organised and the kids really enjoyed it. Anna and Sharon are great, they have a good balance of control and fun, and the kids are really inspired. At after school club Nancy makes fantastic stuff and is very much encouraged to create and make.

Both my sons love Arthropod Arts. They have both had parties and have attended the after school clubs. The party for my seven year old son was secret agent themed they were so creative they built a headquarters; and the kids had to produce their finger prints to enter. We really felt that a lot of imagination and creativity went into the whole day. My younger son had a superhero theme and again it was great, they got to make superhero costumes and even had a treasure hunt. The other children's parents were very impressed. My older son really enjoys their after school club and is always disappointed when its time for me to pick him up. He is working towards an art award which he really wants to do.

We had my daughter's 9th birthday party here and it was brilliant! Sharon and Anna have a wonderful fun way of sharing science and art with the kids. Their passion and creativity shines through and the whole group were enthralled for the whole two hours! Can't recommend them highly enough!

Arthropods gave my son Leo, 5 the best birthday party he has ever had! The way Anna and Sharon captured and held the attention of 14 4-5 year olds was astonishing! They all loved making dinosaur book bag key-rings, then after their birthday tea, were transformed into little scientists ready to make a volcano and watch it erupt. I think we might be regulars every year from now on. Brilliant!

Anna Gathy
Anna is and Artist and Scientist and has been working with children for over 5 years designing and delivering creative learning workshops, parties and building large scale puppets.
As our lead Scientist she designs all our fab science parties and makes sure all parties end with a BANG!Sharon Mee
Sharon has been running creative workshops for children and young people for over 15 years is a trained first aider and has a current enhanced CRB

Grace absolutely loves the activities, the group of children and the ladies that run Arthropod Arts. I love the classes too as all the children are engaged and the ideas for activities are imaginative and positive. Sharon and her colleague are nurturing yet still in control and it is simply a well run class. I'm really fussy when choosing activities for my children as I'm a teacher and can be quite hard to please but I have no hesitation in recommending Arthropod Arts. This is in complete contrast with the after school club where Grace used to go when she moaned every week and asked not to go! This is an absolutely great class.
