Welcome to Acting Bugs! - Acting Bugs is the creation of Cbeebies actress Samantha Seager (Bobby The Bus Cleaner from Me Too!) Acting Bugs offers fun weekly drama and storytelling classes for children from 3 - 4 years. For those children under 3, Diddy Bugs stimulates the senses through story based sessions. We provide inspiring and imaginative Nursery and Library sessions.
Acting Bugs classes are weekly drama sessions carefully devised so the parent/carer can join in alongside the child. The sessions are themed half termly and incorporate an ongoing story which includes singing, movement, puppets, props and improvisation. The sessions follow the same structure each week which always ends with our Story Stage where any child who wants to can come up and sing a song, tell a joke or simply take a bow. These sessions ignite imagination, boost confidence and encourage independent thought and concentration. There is lots of opportunity for the children to shape the story. Perfect for pre-schoolers (3-4 year olds).
Diddy Bugs classes are weekly drama sessions for toddlers. These delightful story based sessions are repeated for approximately 4-5 weeks as children love the repetition and become familiar with the characters and story. These are sensory based sessions which use a variety of props and puppets, music, singing and movement to help bring new worlds and environments to life. Young toddlers will learn all about the world around them and will have lots of fun experimenting with sound, texture and visual treats along with the help of their grown up. These sessions are designed so the parent/carer can join in alongside the child and are suitable from 18 months upwards.
At Acting Bugs we specialise in creating magical parties for children aged 2 – 7 years. Our story adventure parties get everyone involved in the exciting action of your chosen story theme. Will you be visiting Bubble Land on the Magic Train? Or helping Princess Puddle find her way home in time for the Palace Ball? Or rescuing the magic silver telescope from naughty Captain Bluebottom in an exciting fun filled Pirate adventure.?
With over 15 themes to choose from, there’s sure to be one you and your child will love! Each party includes puppets, singing, drama, dancing and bubbles and is led by an enthusiastic and talented actor. Each party lasts an hourand all parties are suitable for boys and girls.
It is our recommendation that for parties aimed at under 4’s the children will benefit greatly if the parents are encouraged to join in with the drama and action.

We have been visiting Acting Bugs for about about a year now, we go every week and cannot miss it! Acting bugs is such good fun, and my little girl Poppy really enjoys it! Each week there is a theme, starting with a sing song and stories like 'The Gruffalo' or 'Room on the Broom'. The children love it and they do things like acting out the story, its educational and fun and keeps children's attention, we would really recommend Acting Bugs!
I have been going to Acting bugs every week for the last year, and George who is 4 absolutely loves it! I find it is very interactive for the children, they do lots of role plays, and the sessions are centred around stories which the children can get involved in. Going to acting bugs also helps builds children’s confidence which I found great as George was approaching school age. As a parent who has been going for the last year, I really struggle to think of anything they could improve on!!
Penelope recently turned five and asked if she could invite Sam to her party. She initially wanted a princess party but as she'd only invited boys (and Sam!), with Sam's help we had "princesses and pirates". The party was fantastic. We had 17 children (5 and under) for a party at home and it was the smoothest run party ever thanks to Sam! She stayed in character for the whole time and had the children all mesmerised from the start. She kept their attention and interest for all of the session. The mums have all asked me for the contact details. Whilst the children all declared it the best party ever!
Thank you so much Sam, you've made a little girl (and her mum!) very happy!
Daisy & myself thoroughly enjoyed the interaction of the stories & the fun that Sam brought to it.
Daisy still sings the songs & does her facial expressions .. which regularly makes me laugh.
Every now & then she forgets she's going to be going to big school & says about a new joke shes learnt "I'll tell Sam that one Monday" :(
Worth every penny to see Daisys confidence grow.
Thankyou.

My name is Samantha Seager and I am the creator and founder of Acting Bugs. I am an actress, originally from Manchester and I put my roots down in east London in the late 90's, just before I had my two children, now aged 9 and 11. I have worked extensively in theatre and TV over the last 25 years and my work includes Billy Elliott, Coronation Street (I played Jodie Morton throughout 2007) and many of you with under 5's will know me as Bobby the Bus Cleaner from Cbeebies series Me TooI have also taught drama for many years for Perform, a leading drama provider for 4-8 year olds. I started doing Acting Bugs sessions in 2012 in my local church hall as I love working with children, particularly with pre-schoolers and and toddlers and have a passion for drama, play and having fun. When my children were much younger, I was often frustrated with the lack of creative and imaginative activities we could attend together in my local community and I vowed that when I had the opportunity I would establish such a drama group. The seed for Acting Bugs had been planted and now in 2014 I am reviving Acting Bugs sessions for 3-4 year olds and am very excited to be launching Diddy Bugs sessions for 18 months to under 3 years in various locations throughout East London. Acting Bugs and Diddy Bugs sessions introduce pre school children and toddlers to the magical world of drama and storytelling. These exciting and carefully devised sessions will get your little one's imagination buzzing whilst developing confidence and focus in a safe and friendly environment. The sessions are designed so the parent/carer can join in alongside the child and use puppets, props, bubbles, songs and movement to create wonderful worlds and stories which we will explore together. I am also very excited to be launching Acting Bugs Parties which have turned out to be a huge hit with children and parents alike. I hope you will join us for lots of fun and laughter and get your little one's imagination buzzing. . .
I have been so impressed with Acting Bugs. Sam and Shirani who run it are amazing. I really like the way they encourage parents to get involved. Acting Bugs has reminded me and my daughter of great games we can play together at home. Sam and Shirani keep the group under control in a very positive way, which is great. My daughter, Olivia loves Sam, who she recognised from Cbeebies! Olivia also loves the games and the Star Stage, where everyone can perform whatever they like in a really welcoming environment and be applauded for their performance. Acting Bugs has sparked Olivia's imagination and she loves it. Friday is Acting Bugs Day!
