Scuba diving gives children a feeling of freedom, and a transformation and a connection with nature. It immerses children in new sensations and experiences and can transform their perception of life forever.
This course of lessons takes children over 14 to the next level and develops underwater skills and gives a taste of speciality courses such as deep and underwater navigation, boat diver, digital photography, night diver, peak performance diver, search & rescue and wreck diver.£240/course/child.

In pool lessons take place at Brighton College, Eastern Road, Brighton, BN2 0AL. The school is close to Kemp Town and Brighton City Centre and easy to find.
All children's lessons and courses include: log book, learning materials, certificates and scuba diving equipment suitable for each child's size.
For Bubblemakers and Seal Team, children do not need to be strong swimmers as the lessons take place in the shallow area of the pool.
For a try dive, children need to be able to swim one length.
I think with diving there is always the potential fear factor, but David is great. My daughter was very relaxed and at ease being taught to dive by him. There is a great atmosphere and lots of variety. The classes cater for different skill levels whether it’s just a try dive or open water certificate.
I have four children and all have completed the PADI Seal Team course at Brighton College with David Dunn and various members of his team. Ewan is just about to undertake his Open Water. This now means, as a family, as part of our summer holidays we can now all dip below the ocean!
The pool at Brighton College provides a completely safe environment. The instructors lessons combine the use of the PADI Seal book and a sense of fun to engage the children. They cover the safety aspects, such as checking equipment and handsigns, and are strict enough so the children understand the dangers involved. They leave the lessons wanting to go back in which is always a good sign. All equipment is provided.

I've been involved in sport all my life, play golf, squash and of course dive, used to be a swimmer and runner at school, got into teaching and coaching 14 years ago. Started teaching and coaching swimming first then moved onto Triathlon.
I have organised many championship triathlon races over the years, was South East Regional Development Officer for the British Triathlon Association and Head Coach to East Grinstead junior squad then formed Team Viper with coaching partner Ian Gummery. Team Viper is still running and I am the Honorary Chairman to the club. I have now formed a club at Brighton College where I am head of swimming.
I have been diving for just 4 years, having dived extensively in the Red Sea, Barbados, Lanzarote and UK.
I am a member of the Academy of Scuba Diving and have been coming here for about a year. I am PADI qualified and halfway through my PADI Divemaster course. I have found David to be a very competent teacher and would have no qualms about him having complete responsibility of my child in the water. He gives clear and concise instructions.
