Our classes are a fresh take on learning languages for children between the ages of 20 months and 10 years, and they are a fantastic way to introduce foreign language to children at an early age, giving them the head start that they need to do well with languages at school and in life.
We offer 45 minute lessons for children, teaching either Spanish or French while having fun with singing, telling stories, dancing and more. It’s such a lovely way to help your child to develop. Each week we have themes and we repeat words and songs to help your children learn and remember the lessons.
There is much research to support learning a second language from an early age. Not only is the ability to speak or understand a second language a skill your child can draw on for the rest of his or her life, it also increases their capacity for learning in general.
Testimonial from Ruth,Mum to Zak age 3
“My son loves the singing at Muchachos and not only sings the songs at home but also includes some random Spanish words in his conversation sometimes too. Debbie is a fun teacher and all the children really warm to her. It is great to go to class where both Mum and son are learning something together (as I couldn't speak a word before we went.) Would highly recommend it.”

I take my daughter to Muchachos once a week and we thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Debbie, whom speaks fluent Spanish, makes the sessions fun and flamboyant, but also incorporates learning. She does this by using fun songs, actions and games to teach the language to the children. My daughter who is three has been attending since she was 20 months. She can now count in Spanish, she knows many Spanish words and a few songs and phrases.
Debbie is very friendly and encouraging and the children feel at ease in her classes. The sessions are always fun, even for the parents, who love to join in too.
My son was one of the first to start attending Debbie's Spanish classes and I can't recommend them highly enough. Debbie is outstanding - warm and natural with the children who absolutely adore her. Its amazing to see how at such a young age they have picked up the concept of a foreign language, and how many words they have already learnt. They both went to a summer camp this year, and were counting down the hours until they could go every day. They have so much fun at the classes they learn without even noticing!
Debbie is excellent. I can't think of enough positive adjectives to describe her. My children have completed one term of French and sing French all the time. They know all their colours and can count from 1 - 12 easily. I love her classes and will miss the Petersfield one.
Debbie has been coming to us for over 2 years now. She is amazing - the children love her! Debbie is very flexible with her classes too. The classes are fun, enjoyable and keep us all moving. We recommend her highly!!

'Natalie Lewit is multilingual mum of two and also a professional Dance and Drama teacher who was born and raise in Chile by a French family. In 1999. Natalie was asked to teach drama to orphans who were under refuge in France, this experience opened the door to the beginning of an amazing and rewarding career. Natalie has been in the UK for more than a decade juggling life between being a dance and drama teacher, running toddler groups, being a holistic therapist and being a superhero mum (the best job so far!).'
The company was founded in 2010 by Debbie Garrick, a mum of two who after living abroad, studying languages to Postgraduate level and working with young children was in awe of how much they could achieve at a young age. Her own children have taught her so much. She has a real passion for teaching new languages to children and watching them learn and grow. She also loves that cultural awareness is a big part of the classes. Debbie is proud to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists for both French and Spanish and hopes to inspire hundreds of little linguists of the future.
Debbie was joined in 2012 by Katia Callander, who had similar experiences working with children abroad and seeing their ability and love for languages. Katia is a mum of three so again is able to pitch classes at a suitable level for children. Katia now heads up the after school programme and is proving hugely popular with her students.
It is very important for children to learn things like Spanish and French language at a young age, as it gives them a head start for life whatever they choose to do with it. That is why we put so much time and effort into making the language classes fun, exciting and the learning easy to remember.
As well as our standalone French and Spanish singing lessons for children, we also provide teachers who offer lessons at after school clubs and nurseries: Giving children an early start in language can be amazing for their general development, providing them with a much better understanding of the world, giving them the ability to learn how behaviour impacts on people and things around them.
Both Noemi and I love going to the Muchachos Spanish classes. They are fun, entertaining and we both get the chance to run around, sing, dance and let our hair down. The group is friendly and welcoming and Debbie is really good with the children – she adapts the class to the mood of the children rather than sticking to a regimented structure. The children learn Spanish naturally through the songs and not in a boring “verbs and pronouns” grammar way. We really do love the classes and I am more than happy to recommend them.
