Award Winning Family Shows at Brighton Fringe 2017
Festivity season is just around the corner and the Brighton Fringe brochure is bursting with shows to entertain the whole family.
With 970 shows on at the festival this May and more than 100 shows for families, here’s a look at the award-winning shows and companies featured in the Kids section this year.
The Krazy Kat Theatre Company make their debut at Brighton Fringe with their show Oliver in the Overworld (May 7).
This madcap musical for 3-7 year olds and families is created by multi-award winning artistic director Kinny Gardener with beautiful puppets, transformations, songs and dances.
This funny and surreal performance showcases a mastery of visual storytelling. This show is the first ever musical created from scratch with sign language!
Calling all hippo expert enthusiasts! Winners’ of Best Family Show at the Buxton Fringe, Mouths of Lion return to Brighton with Dr Zeiffal, Dr Zeigal and the Hippo That Can Never be Caught! (May 5-8)
Expect belly laughs, belly flops and fantastical falling over in this brilliant new adventure for all ages
After a sell-out run last year, the award-winning Defrosted (28, 30 May & June 1, 4) returns with another fantastic family adventure at Brighton Fringe 2017.
Join super-duo Cat (Bubbles the Mermaid in CBeebies show Spotbots) and Nicko and their puppet rock band as they entertain you with silliness, songs and parodies.
Winner of the Spirit of the Fringe award 2016, Woodland Tribe (Throughout Fringe) returns for its revival at The Warren.
Over the course of the festival, children and adults of all ages can use hammers, nails, saws, rope and a huge quantity of wood to co-create the play space of their dreams.
Then join Doktor James as he attempts to take over the world! Help James Benison – winner of International Youth Arts Festival Brighton Stand- up Comedy Award, defeat his superhero brother, but be warned: only the naughtiest of kids (and parents) allowed!
